Invitation to the IRSH - Youth Camp 2006
“Active citizenship and participation”
03-10 September 2006, Kune- Lezhe, ALBANIA.Context Active citizenship is about taking part -it may be as straightforward as helping a neighbors or as challenging as orchestrating a major campaign to effect change. For some, active citizenship comes naturally -family tradition, a chance meeting, an inspirational teacher. If we know our rights, duties and responsibilities and understand the nature of democratic government, and if we have practiced some of the skills of participation and joined unreflective discussion, then we are much more likely and much better equipped to play an active role in thewider community. The Youth camp aims at bringing knowledge and competences to the rest of the NGO world and vice-versa.We think that informal education has a great potential to promote social change.
