THE PROJECT:

Lebenshilfe Wohnhaus - Support for handicapped people:  2003-AT-62

Location:
Salzburg / Austria
 
Description:
The "Lebenshilfe" is the largest nation wide organisation in the field of work for and with handicapped (meaning with mental and multiple disabilities) people.
Their main concern is that the young volunteer brings a new intercultural atmosphere into the residential centre and contributes with his or her ideas to a wider offer concerning leisure time and creative activities.
Daily tasks of the volunteer will be following: guiding the disabled people in making their groceries, helping to prepare meals and clean away afterwards, helping them with  their rooms, motivating them doing leisure-time activities, going with them to cultural events, coffee shops, or restaurants. The volunteer will help the professional team and will be guided by them.
